RETHINKING THE 21st CENTURY OFFICE FOR THE FUTURE.

Reflecting upon the pandemic era, the entire world was forced to pause, take stock and reconfigure. So many of us found ourselves departing the traditional office environment of days past, forced by global circumstance to adjust in mass to a new era of flexible work. Where the atypical office was in many ways no longer viable, our homes, local hospitality venues and neighbouring amenities become the new workplace. A consequence of which, was that the desire for the warmth of hospitality and the resolved, passionate design of these venues had become a new fundamental expectation as we returned to a now hybridised world.

These factors validated the long established ambitions of Eclat. A brand and design led workspace fundamentally hospitality focussed and integrated within its host structure. Its brand family, business components, design and operational ethos positioned to improve end user experience. The sum of its parts, a proposition to elevate experiences, establish a unique market segment, and champion a far deeper connection between patrons and physical space. Differentiating from the common coworking space offerings by extending design and service throughout every space, every office, and every touchpoint; not just in the foyer. With hospitality being the common thread that would tie it together. Rethinking the 21st century office and redefining what it can be now and in the future.

“Delivering the warmth, human centric and memorable experience we all know and love of a great hotel and restaurant experience; is a delicate dance of intent, capability and delivery. Phsyical space, sensory perception, technology and human elements all working in harmony towards a common goal; ultimately to make the patron feel at home.”

Often the term hospitality is used broadly. Does a simple coffee suffice? Is there a cafe in direct proximity to the office? A human stationed at the front desk? Or is it used more often as a competitive keyword for SEO?

In observation of the efforts that hotels, restaurants and wellness establishments invest; at Eclat hospitality is both fundamental and all encompassing, both the goal and the journey.  The application of this level of care, consideration, design and resolution to a large format shared office space is daunting to say the very least. But there inlies the opportunity and the exciting possibilities that come with it.

The way we work & live must represent progressively improving overall wellbeing.

There is so much fundamentally positive and exciting change, innovation and growth to be had for the flexible working industry; as ultimately the way we work and how we live must align and represent progressively improving overall wellbeing. Luxury workspace, hospitality infused, curated workspace; even terms such as pro-working have been used by the broader industry over the years in attempts to classify a new market segment and to differentiate from the atypical flexible workspace. Yet, its how people feel and the experiences they garner which ultimately conclude if such differentiation is earned or even warranted.

Perfection of course can never be achieved, but the striving for it defines the journey and often the result, the pursuit of perfection seeking to achieve ultimate consistency and going that extra step further driven by insatiable passion to benefit the patron, so achieve that feeling of authentic homeliness.

This rethinking of the 21st-century office was conceived a decade prior but emerged only recently to disrupt the marketplace as a response to the pandemic era, long acknowledging that times would inevitably change; along with the workforce and their expectations of service providers.

Design, technology and furniture are all key to elevate physical space beyond accepted norms, but no element more so than the human component. The culture, the people and the relationships that are being bound to the brand as a gesture of trust and in support of its intentions; to redefine the office, by creating multifaceted destinations that offer a more beneficial enjoyable and integrated experience as a whole. Members, partners and staff alike all mutually invested in creating something truly unique together.

“We aspire to elevate interior design throughout the entire footprint of Eclat, not just in common areas. Every single office, desk and hallway are opportunities for meaningful design; and with every moment a chance to improve wellbeing and differentiate from the pack.”

Passionate hospitality transcends mere service, transforming each guest interaction into a memorable story. It’s the warmth that greets you by name and the meticulous attention that anticipates your desires before they are even expressed. To a guest, it feels like a homecoming, regardless of the distance between them and home. Hospitality is not just about meeting expectations, but about creating an emotional connection that guests carry with them long after they leave. It’s about making every visit not just satisfactory, but genuinely enchanting.

Coworking, proworking, serviced flexible workspace, curated office, luxury suite et cetera; these define “what” is offered. That striving to provide hospitality in all its shapes and forms be it human, virtual, tangible or sensory; defines the “how”. But to earn differentiation and truly redefine the workspace beyond mere words, the “Why” reigns supreme.

Shining light on each others endeavours and inspiring through action, achievement and insight. Trust and loyalty is earned through commitment, consistency, care and authenticity in all things; in every touch-point and every moment.

“Why” Eclat?… “To be brilliant”.
